June 2nd already...

Well, Indiana. Here we are.
where do i start? We have net and cable now, which is wonderful, because being without net adn felling the need to let everyone know we are ok, was irritating. I have to go to the grocery today- the food i brought with me is dwindling. The grocery is 40 miles away :) thats awesome. i REALLY want to find a way to work in this town and stay in this town. I really dont want to find some random job doing some corporate crap. My mom had said with her own seriousnerss that i had to have a job within 2 weeks of being here. Or start looking for one, i think. Sure, ill work on it this week, because my house is in workable order. My kitchen is great! i cook 3 meals a day, for her, Maggs and I. Sometimes Granny eats with us. There is a tense dynamic between my mom and granny. (my mom is not my birth mom, but my step mother who i am getting to know more and more each day) My mom had 8 in her family, but i didnt know this until day before yesterday- she doesnt talk to any of them, for whatever reason unles its Fran or Theresa. Granny gives me the inside scoop on things, Maggs loves her. She had a run of bad days last week, about 4 in a row, adn i was actually questioning my coming here... but she hadnt slept, adn shes better now :) Better is an opperative word here, because as people say about having to take me with a grain of salt, you have to take her with a salt lick block. You just have to be in the Art of Allowing with her. :) Good thing i have my training.
OK, so... Lets move onto Taft, the geezer in the front apartment. ahahaha... he has 2 teeth- which Maggs so Superbly pointed out one evening by saying to him.."Tafff... do you only have one tooth??" he laughed and said that he had two. Taft is nice, and helpful and Maggs love him. Hes not the most out together person, he drinks but theres a lot of those around. Hes a good guy though.. beanpole and always clean. Then there are the people who own the little Deli and Grocery next door, Miss Rita and Mr. Mike, as we call them. There is a little Pizza parlor that Mr. Mike runs w-sat evenings attached to the grocery/deli that Miss Rita runs. They are married, and they are our friends. Mr. Mike fixed our bath tub faucet last week, thank god.. cause for the first week and a half we had been here we had to take baths.. which is ok for Maggs.. but me. NO. Especially since it was DAMN HOT and sticky and i was working HARD to get this place in order. I got a sun rash from how hot it was for days, i had forgotten about my allergy to the sun after not being exposed for oh.. years in new hampshire.
Ok, what else? I need to be getting on the Herblas, i have to make an order for Bulks and get toghether scrubs adn such for the farmers market that is rite across the street on Saturdays. And my mother's grand openeing is on the 13th. We should have a pretty big turn out for that, and we will have vendors. Ill set up rite next door to her store. I have to renovate my garage for my shop, Taft seems to be living in our other shop space rite now. It seems like the herbals shop will go over well here- people seem useto it all. People have asked me about remedies that their grandmothers used.. but they have limited info, so i cant really help :) But it will all come together. And i am looking forward to doing more online business.
Lets see, what else? I Went out to the property... sheesh. It was really logged by the past owners.. there is no old growth left. Its all new trees.. and lots of plants. Took Maggs with Granny out to the property and the creek and played in the water.
Alrigh, now the house.. ill admit, when i first walked in, i was like... uhh..... um. ok. It seemed pretty bad. But after a week of work, its turning out to be pretty nice. The walls are a lavender beige grey color, adn the carpets were so dirty in the living room. But i cleaned them, and put dwoen the Sun Moon and Stars Rug Ashley gave us, and its good. Maggs room is beautiful, a real GOOD pink,, with Princesses, and we have decorated it with butterflies on the ceiling and all. My room is slow going, and that s ok. Our Bathroom is big and the tub is new and big enough to take a real bath. The water pressure here is horrid. If you are in the shower, and someone in Zimbabwe flushes a toilet, you have to stand there until the toilet fills, because the pressure you almost had is down to drips.
We have a big front deck with a green awning, and a railing, Dog loves it. We have a big, green yard and we have already put in Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Sunflowers, Lettuce, Cucumbers and Zuchini. (HAHAH, like the priority of the garden??)
Across the street is the local library which is TINY, and the "big kids playground" as Maggs has deemed it. Down the road a block is the "Little Kids Playground". Granny lives one block down and mom lives 3 blocks down.
The land here is super beautiful. Green, and you can see for miles. There are hills, and farm fields.
All in all, its been a good couple weeks, with just a bit of doubt. Maggs is making a few friends here and there - no one like we knew, but i am sure they come in time. Good things are worth the wait. Every one Loves Maggs, of course.
so, i should be off, i have to shower and Go-to-Town!!
HAHAH.
