This Blog Started out as one thing and has wandered into something else... Look for the better thought- reach for the better feeling.

Im starting to notice a Pattern in the winters. When weather starts to settle into a cold sameness and a closed-in feeling of solid sets its feet, I start to look more closely at things and notice detail. Patchauli becomes a major part of my life at this time of year. Why? Because it smells like dirt and trees... a scent missing from my every day in the winter. The ground is frozen, I cannot reach the soil, so I substitute with memory. I go inside and use images and feeling to subsidize the lack of Tree-Talks, and Sun-Soaks. I know I could still go outside, but I seriously dislike the cold. Going outside to visit the Trees and Mother & Brother is a special treat and occasion in the Winter. Summer finds all windows open all the time, There is no separation at that time.

This past few weeks... :)
Wow, What a crazy past few weeks! i didn't have anything to write about until i sat here at 9 am three weeks ago talking with Leanne and decided to meet her to talk about opening a space. Then- BLAM! rushing, whirlwind, quickness, hard work, talking and planning, sleeping and eating here and there, and finally- OPEN THE DOOR! And this past weekend happened. Our Herbal Shop is OPEN. A Real, Bonified Herbal shop. It should sound Strange to me, it probably should feel shocking and weird. But it doesn't- it feels completely comfortable, not foreign at all. Maybe because I've done similar things before, organizing and pulling people together. Or, maybe- more on my line of thinking - It feels normal, Because it IS normal. "you know what is for you by how it feels" - and it can't get more normal feeling than this :)
I have been supremely Blessed with the Love and Support of my family and friends in all of this. My family has been so supportive and Helpful with Maggie, and my friends have pitched in to bring the shop together. I couldn't ask for better people in my life. Even those who are not rite here in New Hampshire have been so supportive and encouraging. I really know the encouragement of people like Alyssa and Heather and others who have Ordered from Sun Moon Stars, have helped my drive in the business so much, they keep me on track (especially rite now with the Holiday Line!! ) I feel a drive to get things done with them standing behind me, they make me to know my work Matters. Between them and the people i have met Via the shop coming together and the people coming into the shop (the rekindled friendships-like Mary :) ) , I know i am so richly Blessed. I am so happy that people are as joyful about all of this as I am. *sigh* I love it.
I look forward to next weekend as well- The Rollinsford/South Berwick Christmas Parade! I will be ordering more bulk herbs this next week, and restocking sold items from the SMSH Family, and Myself. I get to make Lip Balms (candy cane! WOOHOO!) and Scrubs, and Body Butters this week :D
Oh, hahaha! and its Nisu Week! Wednesday, I will be making Nisu for my Family. I have to make an extra t-ring to send with Eddie to Work :D I will, of course, cry cause I will miss A&E, but Maggs will be helping, so It's OK. dang it, thinking about it makes me miss them already. Poo.
well, just wanted to update, so I could thank everyone for their amazing help and to say I'll be back to a bit more norm mow, because Its up and running - so i don't have to. :) upkeep is one thing, promotion and new product and classes. But the renovation and set up is done. *whew* it's like building a house, and filling it. Now, its done and all it needs is up keep and continual excitement and input and energy!!
I am looking forward to the workshops and classes. I will do more and more advertising of course. It has to be a continual movement, there wont be any stillness in the place! :D (could there be with me abound??) ;)

Venice and Spain
Im listening to a beautiful classical station from Venice. I wonder what beautiful things are in this big, big world. I listen to David's stories of Gaudi and Spain and I wonder what it must be like, to travel to far places, to expand horizons beyond the eastern coast of this completely blind country of free, brave and lazy. I read Scott's accounts of Scotland and wonder what it must be like, dreaming of castles.
I dream of my library, of home with cottage gardens, of family and tradition. I day dream of Holidays and Busy days, of grocering and gardening. i dont want a life of novelty, i want to experience and feel all of these beautiful things, not to do them just to say i have.
I got 2 job offers today- one at Hannaford, cashiering, which i have wanted fro a while, and one at a local Pizza place owned by Greeks. Hannaford seems so much the better for me, meeting people, making friends, air conditioning, reliability. the pizza place will be hot, and i am afraid of the owner, she intimidates me. The pizza place wants someone LONG term, and i cant see myself staying that long. *sigh* Im going to talk to Hannaford's tomorrow and probably take it. I want to work for Hannaford.

summers warmth
Finally, a warm summer day.... the plants are going to be so happy :)
Got the website done, with help 0f Guggs the Great, of course. Been working with "karate-chop Dave" as Moo calls him, on the business. Never knew he was so keen on this stuff- but you know me, i think everyone is a moron until they show me otherwise. wow, thats an ugly thing to say.
no job yet, still searching. Have been doing side work though. Shippped three orders out since yesterday morning- woot!
Maggs isnt is school yet, looked at Farmington Daycare, but Little Blessings has spoiled me so much that i am always hesitant. Hopeing for a Job in Portsmouth, that way she can just go back there. :)
the gardens are doing fine, not dead, and the corn is getting big.
wow, i have not much to say, just waiting. patience grasshopper.
sproing!

This Cool Summer.
I am always asked about Life- whats new, Hows it going.. whatcha' been up to? So, i guess that means i need to update- much easier to write it all down, rather than re-write it all constantly. First off, Still living in Farmington with Steven, and yes, still loving it. What a Blessing. I've slowed down enough to get back into the natural rhythm of things, i can see again. I can breathe and feel, i am One with all that Is. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Still no full-time, gainful financial employment, but i have no stress about it. I have come to know that what i contribute to the household is enough, as long as i continue to search for that outside income. (Altho i probably make most of the mess i clean, and such).
The website is done, it is being edited this weekend, then will be ready for the open date. WOOT! 44 products listed, all made by me- Bring on the orders! I am working with a Friend on Business Development for SMS, which is super helpful. Nothing is happening rite now, we're in sort-out phase, but will be moving ground soon. Nothing ever happens fast enough for my liking, but meh- im glad for the mentor ship. (I want the goose that lays the Golden Egg, and I want it NOW)
May be going to go look at a car soon, been driving Steven's Silverado. Sold the Blazer to go to H-e-double hockey sticks, so came home without a vehicle.
Speaking of coming home- how nice. Still. I am so loving having the friends i do in this little place- 4 houses, 4 families, all with kids, all friendly. The moms are like a little association by themselves. Its so nice to have other Women to talk to. Lisa came to hang with me this morning, so super awesome, and I hang with Trav and Brandy often. I think i am in love with their little baby girl, she and I are Buddies. i love being comfortable enough with these ppl to just be invited to sit and talk, and that they are comfortable enough to just come to my house, too. (ok, Steven's, but he says its ours... :) Steven is my Uncle, BTW ).
Maggs has amazing friends to play with, and im not scared to let her go out to the common area alone, or into any of the friend's houses. We all share a common way of raising our children- which is SO wonderful, we are non-violent and respectful and gentle in our ways. We are a bunch of Hippies, altho travis would kick my butt if i told HIM that (so much for non-violence, eh?) well, all in all we are doing really good. Stress level is null an void, I have a massive comparison point via the Indiana trek, so.. not even He-Whom-Shall-Remain-Nameless can harm me anymore. haha.. not Voldemort, silly. Yup, im not even afraid of him anymore. Indiana really did the trick- it was like- "Here- have a dose of contrast- as big and heavy as a ton of bricks, and ill throw in humility and comparison and a jump start on Gratitude for you as well!!) dang. Thanks, but can we not do that again. Ike asks if i think i will remember it- I will never forget. I will always MAKE myself remember. Always.
Nothing will ever be taken for granted again. between that and the Nameless One, life kind of got Solid Definition... which is good.
I can honestly, for the first time in my life- say with full conviction- I know what I want.
And that is good.
Love, Dawn

Turn a corner, stand in the Sun.
So, to change the static energy of this blog form the past, i have decided to rename it and push it into a new direction. I would love to just delete the whole damn thing and forget it ever happened - BUT. And this is a positive- IF i do that, i wont remember, because as much as i want to forget, i need to remember. If i ever start to take what i have here for granted, i have vowed to re-read these early postings and remember what i went through, and hopefully i will access the emotion with the experience. That way, i will never forget how truly blessed and lucky i am to have the people in my life that i do. I really do have all the opportunity and love in the world, and i never want to forget that. So... i keep the earlier postings.
Now, onto the now-ness of life.
AHHHHH... so good. We are Home. We are back in New Hampshire. I have been working on the new website and it is coming along wonderfully. I have so much perspective from past events, i am taking nothing for granted, no excuses, no slacking. I am lucky, loved and gifted. And i know this :). Do what you love- no better time. So. The weather has been amazing, Life is good, and I am blissful.
And Oh, So Grateful. More to come :)

OK.. so first update since coming home from Hell. You know, i went through the whole disappointment phase while i was in Indiana, being home is now full of happiness and relief and gratefulness. I am so happy to be home.
I know that a lot of ppl dont know what happened- so i will summarise.
We got to Indiana. It was fine for the first 4 days or so... and then my "mom" started acting weird.. i thought maybe she was upset that my dad was going back to his job on the road.. he left 2 days later. Then it all went to hell. Katherine was mean, all the time- condescending about everything i said, made fun of me and was harsh once with Maggs and made her cry. (my kid knows whats UP!) Anyways, by week 3 I was scared every morning to go out and find out what mood she was in, to walk around that corner and see what kind of freakish day we would have. See, she wasn't physically abusive.. at all.. I pick up on Vibes, if you will. i FEEL everything.. and when i mean feel, i mean F-E-E-L. Things can knock me on my ass by the way i pick up on the vibration of them.. or they can have me soaring depending on their frequency. I have learned through the pat-ordeal how to control me reactions, so i am not ONLY reacting to what is around me, i can control it.. but this- this was HORRID. It was like reliving the wretched child hood moments all the time. I was waking up each morning obsessing about what that day would bring.. i could feel her through the wall that connected the store and my kitchen. Here's how it went- if you waled up to the store's door, and she ignored you, you were fucked for the day- there were only 2 days where that didn't happen after the first 4 i was there. I was in tears the last week and a half i was there every day. She was ugly no matter what you said. I did confront her 2 times previous to the last big day we spoke. I tried to talk to her about how she was treating me, she said- 'dont take it personally... everything is wrong'. I now know that was maybe true, and i really tried to practice the art of allowing, but it just got worse and worse and worse.. i was living in my own worst nightmare, my own hell. It was SO intense, and so eye opening.
End result was the last day i confronted her- the 19th? maybe 18th of June... i got blamed for my dad going into the hospital (2 weeks after i had seen him??!) i was told that Maggie is the boss of me, that i parent wrong, that i should have known all of the things i was supposed to do around there- because i had been there a month.. all these fucked up crazy details that i would rather not re-live. But, I knew she was all fucked up when she blamed me for my dad going into the hospital- He has copd, and heart problems,a dn they gave him the wrong meds ..... THAT is why he was in the ICU.. i was in Indiana and he is in Maryland. (sp?).
Long and Short of all this - My dad left when i was 4, I called him the night she shut off my phone (which was on a family plan for the last 3 years) because i was so scared, (she shut it off after our' discussion??' so i couldn't tell my dad what was going on) and he completely blew me off- i was hysterical and scared for Maggs and I. I was scared she was going to lock us out of our house liie she did the guy in the front house that rented from her... and what did he say?? "BULLSHIT", as though i was lying. END OF GAME. As far as i am concerned, the man never re-appeared when i was 18. He left at age 4, and thats it.. done.
SO, my Saint and Saviour Isaac W. Hanson Pulled me and Maggs from the wreckage, and we were home, safe and sound- I am eternally indebted and grateful to Isaac for what he has done. He, as he always has, held out his hand, picked us up, and brought us home. He truly is the best of the best. I really dont know where I would be without him.. and i dont want to know.
Out of all of this, i have left many gory details.. and they dont matter.
What matters is this- I know who loves me, I know where I belong, I know whats good for Maggie, and I have learned so much appreciation... For my Home, For this place, For my Family and Friends, and after last night's nightmare, even more for Isaac. I am grateful for the opportunities i have here in New Hampshire to grow, learn, be, do, expand... I am grateful for my wonderful friends, for my loving family, for home. I am grateful for coffee shops, peoples mindsets, and the true safety of this place as a whole.
Heh- dealing with Pat is NOTHING compared to what i saw in Indiana- piece of cake ;) Literally.
yay. :D Love and Light... and gratitude beyond measure....Dawnie

New ways
Oh boy.. Today was the worst yet. I got confronted about talking to my dad about the situation with my "mom". It turned into a really bad, bad argument. I was basically slapped in the face and told that if i didnt like the way she is acting, to leave. Ok. Gone. I was blamed for my father going into the ICU, (which had nothing to do with me- it was 2 weeks after he left here and they gave him the wrong meds..) I have been told that i dont parent right, That my whole life is playing (wait.. what?), That i dont DO anything, and that i hav e ignored everything she had said. She let me know that i asked to help too late- (huh??), and is making me out to be such a horrid person to anyone who will listen. Its quite absurd, really. ok, its down rite dumb.
Well.. ok. So now what?
Now Maggs and I go back to our support system, and now I know. I know what i needed to know about my "mom and dad", and i know who my true friends and family are. I know what is important, and i know about my potential. I know where Maggs has it good for her.
Anyways.. ive talked to all the Family, and Isaac.. and i am once again shown the power of true love from real family.
More to come....

cool wind
*sigh* things have been pretty good the past few days.. much to my relief.
On SUnday i was SO frustrated, my computer wouldnt work- i was ready to cry.. and i just may have :). Maggs and I went to do laundry, and then i got fed up, and decided we were going to go for a drive- and that started a turn of good. We went throught Bedford up to Bloomington and into Nashville, down through Freetown and back home- it took from noon till about 8 or 9 p.m. And, let me say Bloomington is super cool, and Nashville is SO beautiful. Indiana University is in Bloomington, so there are a bunch of people, things to do, and schools. Unity is there, and it is alive, yet nice. Nashville is a cross between Ruidoso and Jerome!! Its an artist community in rolling hills of forest and valleys of farmlands... there are old barns and amazing plants. What a breath of fresh air, the drive was so nice, and it was again on Monday!! We went up and i applied at Barnes & Noble and a massive Greenhouse/Landscape company. If i do stay here, i will most likely move up to Bloomington.. it is such a nice place. After doing research it seems like a perfect place for Maggs and I.
My mother was actually PLEASENT today.. i wonder if it was all the stress of the grand opening and such.. boy do i hope so, iso hate to give up so soon. I stood outside and listened to stories about Medora from her and the local historian Joe. Now, dont get me wrong.. she wasnt loving, just nice... she made conversation about the town.. not really about anything personal. But, not mean. *whew* thank you God.
My herb supply came in yesterday:D this is me happy.. the smell of the box sitting open on the floor is wonderful ! i will be able to make more teas and work on the site- ive been reading a book called "Tribes" by Seth Godin, and it is so up to my way of doing things, my style.. see, yet another thing i have done forever, and only NOW someone else is writing about it.. maybe i shoulda' written books about the crazy way i do things.. it all started with college algebra when Rachel shouted out- "This is how Dawn has always done Math!! NOW i get it!!" as the teacher was teaching a "new" way to group numbers.. hmmmmm...;)
heh.
Anywhooo...... people love a good story, no?
so. We shall see.
I have been sleeping a little later than usual, so i can dream.. and it is good. Maggs is doing well, We have had a happy past few days- we went to the lake yesterday while we were up in Bloomington... it was wonderful. tonight's weather is beautifully cloudy- the low storm clouds with all shades of black and grey... a cool breeze and such a good feel to it. *sigh* Its a good night.
And Mr. Wonderful Sean Lane Helped me fix my MAC today...FROM New Hampshire... what a godsend he is, always. He has never failed me nor let me down.. which is why he is my Champion. From nights staying up until 4 a.m. to console me and make sure i was safe to helping me with my MAC from 1,200 Miles away- i wish everyone a friend like him.
I am so blessed to have the friends i do... i want to thank them all, especially rite now, Alyssa Richey who keeps ordering from me. It keeps me going... what a blessing all of my friends are.. for all of their wonderful reasons. Thank you.

Thank you.

Saturday..
Maggs is sleeping, nap time. She is all of a sudden having a hard time, she thinks she is too little to play the games we will be doing today, and she misses her dad. Hm. Last night we were up until 11:30. Thanks god she is napping.
My mom's grand opening is today, we start at 5, but the band is setting up its area, and the fire department is washing the street down with their truck. There is a little farmer's market going on across the street, and people are out and about. Looks like the word has goeetn out, which is SUCH a good thing.
Im not is such a good mood, i wish i was cooler :) Like, you know, cool geeky twitter users. My phone doesnt even do text.. not that i really need it, it might be fun, though. I think when i go home, i may be loking into getting a different phone and stuff. I am actually going to have a real job, too! Where? dunno yet, Edward is putting in for me at the shipyard, whatever he can, and aside form that- who cares? Money coming in is money coming in, no? I mean, i dont want to be miserable at my job, but i can take a job until i am in the field i want to be in.. which is.. uh.. ummm... (is there one that the job description reads - "Become a blissfully married woman, stay home with your kids and have wonderful weekends and vacations with your family! Act now and we will throw in the added bonus of your husband being an all encompassed spiritually connected, super brain, amazing man!")
Hahah.. anyways. I have spoken with the rest of my family in NH and they agree that i should come back, and of course they are super supportive, and i am glad. I know... i know... i just thought this would be different. i ned to quit thinking. I am wondering if i can even trust the questions i ask. who knows.
I am going to miss having my own house, i love having my own kitchen that i dont have to share with a ton of room mates and stuff. I love having decorated how i have wanted to.. aside form what Maggs wants, of course.
i know i have an issue with Stability, i wish i didnt!! I really loved being at Steven's, but as soon as the threat of the house getting sold came in, i damn ran...even though i knew somewhere inside, it wouldnt get to that point. CRAP!
I have also realized, in watching the people around here, that i am not really a farm girl at all, im a hippie- a silly, happy, loving hippie! Upon getting down here, i am not southern at all! jeez. good to know. *rolls eyes*
anyways... i was thinking of just continuing the trip out to AZ, but i am not set up for it. Maggs is too little, and Steven is still in NH... can t go without him! So..
This will all happen as it can, its not hard- it only took 2 days to get us here, itll take the same to go gome.
Im going to try to do stuff in the mean time, keep myself occupied, until we have the money to go back. we need $2,000. to get back safely. The sooner i can get it, the sooner i can get home. I have a start towards it.
so, onward we go!

Well... after thinking it over this morning a bit, feeling about it, and looking at it all.. i am seriously thinking i am going to go back to New Hampshire. I have become so use to family being around and having people be at least a LITTLE conscious of what they are doing and how they are acting. I did come here under the pretense that i would have this awesome little tight knit little family, but.. that is not what is happening at all. Should i give it more time? I don't know. But I doubt it. It could be my fear talking, but i just had a thought of Halloween... and there is no place like New Hampshire in the Fall.
What the hell is wrong with me?

this odd place
I guess its not so odd, its just *rolls eyes* i dunno.. idiot drama stupidity that i have LONG out grown. Its really amazing that i am so young, and yet older than a woman my mothers age.
I have come to the conclusion that if we dont have a place to live- oh well. Its not our fault, i have done my part, and continue to do so. i have done nothing wrong, my "mom" is a massive grudge-holding drama-queen. I have come to the calming conclusion that- so what? I know that i have a million friebnds that would help me out in a pinch, and that i haev a lot of places to stay- i know i have real friends. I know i am a friend to many, because i know we share the love :)
So, without going into detail.. i know its all ok, and whatever.. i've come past letting the drama here bother me. i am understanding that she is not f the same understandings that i am, she is not enlightened, or awake to her soul... and thats ok. I AM, so.. thats all that needs to be, and i have GOT TO make sure to remember it all.. all of my training through teachers of all shapes sizes adn creeds. I have GOT TO re member all the things i have done all the places i have been and all of the learning through experience. It may be hard, considering my emotions run SO deep- but i know for sure it is all ok.
Bottom line is- if this all goes sour and horribly wrong, or just doesnt work- its ok.

almost midnight
Mom was nice to me today.
I got the deck painted, and Maggs helped.. She is so amazing. If i didnt see the things she does, i might not believe them myself. She painted the inside of the railings on 3 out of 4 sides on the porch- perfectly. No drip lines, no spills adn perfect coverage. She is totally amazing.. how is she only 3? She blows me away all the time, and i am so blessed to have her. I got almost all of the deck done, about a 6 foot radius is undone on the floor because we ran out of paint. That is solved, though, we went to town this evening and got more.
Finnish it tomorrow, and hope for another good day.

What day is it?
Tuesday, and each morning, i wake up obsessing about my "mother". This woman who supposedly was going to be so great.
I came here under the cooing of her soft voice and promises of fun and family. What i have found is a false woman with an inability to communicate and with such damage that she cannot feel. She can lash out and talk behind backs, though. This i know. She no longer seems to like me, she ignores me, and talks about me to the people in her store until i walk up - then they all look at me, pretending they were talking about something else.
She has aparently wanted me to sand and paint my deck since i was born, because i have been put on some shit list for not having it done already. Her grand opening is this Saturday, and it needs to be done, problem is- its supposed to rain all week. So, no matter what i do,it will be wrong. I have aready removed the old paint, now i will begin painting the new on today. And, it will rain later, and i will be ridiculed more later.
No matter what i try to say to her, she ignores me. She isin battle with the guy she lets live in the place that was supposed to be the herbal/junk shop because she treats him so poorly - he is supposed to work for her in exchange for rent, but she made him into a basic slave. Which, is what she is going to try to do with me, unlessi get a job and pay some rent. I understand this, not that she has said it- but i can see it. I guess she has to speak to me first, though.
I think she is also mad because Granny comes back to eat dinner with us, and she can't. So, i just need to bluntly bring these things up? I really cant- she doesnt have time to listen, and I dont have the free time to stand there and coddle her.. i have a 3 year old.
Well, this fucking sucks, had i known it i would not have come here.
but, i brought us here, and i need to make the best of it all. Fucking Bitch that shes being.

Monday.
MOnday.
Ill have been here almost a month this coming weekend, and it seems like just a few days.Maybe its because i havnt done anything really except garden, hang out and send out a few resumes.
Maggs doesnt sleep well lately, she keeps having nightmares about bugs and stuff, and they seem to be on the other side of the bed.. she never had this problem before.. maybe ill switch sides with her.
Maggs and I went on a little adventure yesterday.. to the property and to look for our creek. We eventually found both. But, MAN.. it took dang for ever. I drove around and around out in the hills and finally came across the rite roads. And then we found our way back here. My mom's property had a great deal of Clover and Plantain on it, which is good. Im sure theres much more out therer that i dont know about, and things i don t recognise. I see some pretty amazing things out there as far as new pants go, i need a new book on them a lot.
Ugh- we now have cable as well as the net.. and Maggs always wants to be watching TV, its annoying. Dora the Explorer is irritating, as is Diego. They teach children things like Anna the Anaconda likes to give hugs. BAD.
The dryer that is in this house vents underneath the house. There is only a very small crawl space under the house.. not even big enough for a person. I thing the death smell is something reacting this the wet hot air that is being vented under the house. But i dont think anyone else will listen to me.. no one here does.
I cant believe how long we have been here.. its just like the days, they go by SO fast. apparently ALL time does.
Job, i MUST find a job. My search area has expanded, so thats good.
I am feeling pretty ordinary lately.. there is really no spark or beauty in my path rite now.. and i can see that. All of my clothes are boring, my hair is always the same, i dont do anything spectacular. I wasnt before in NH either. The last time i remember being grand was while i was waiting for Isaac on Belknap. Meh.. it'll come, i know it will. I have been daydreaming of AZ lately. ugh.
Well, whatever.. all my happiness is my choice alone, so. Onto my day- must do something. Pointless as it may seem, i know it is all for a reason.

Down and Up.
Im up- its not even 7 a.m. yet, and im up WITH coffee.
So, yesterday i did almost NOTHING. went to the bank and the post office.. big deal. wasted the rest of the day completely. When i dont have 3 things going at once, i cant consentrate let alone focus on anything. I have to be doing something major or many things at once to be happy. And usually i will complain a bit about doing so many different things, but oh well. Im busy and i feel good about it. Yesterday, i almost had some tears because if my stagnation. I had done NOTHING.. and was feeling it by dinner prep time. I know if i had at least a part time job, i would feel better about stuff, i am dreading my mother talking to me about not having a job, altho i have been sending out resumes. I am, of course, worried about Maggs in all of this job searcha nd being in a new place because i dont have a new school for her yet, and we havnt made many feriends that i would consider close. Granny said she would watch Maggs if i got a job, and that would be ok for a start, because Maggs loves Granny, and i know she would be ok. She likes Granny better than she likes mom. Honestly, afetr being here 2 weeks, so do I. And that sucks to admit. I was so thinking that my step-mom, (mom) was this great person who would have her bad days. Nope- unfortunately, shes this crappily angry unhealthy person who has her good days. She is a lot like my dead mom, she is not abusive though. She is condesending, rude, and rather emotionally unavailable. My Dad works his ASS off, and she spends money like its nothing when she is in a good mood. As in- $3,000 for a tanning bed, $3,000 for a bus, random trips to good-will, businesses, and on and on. Not that i knew any of this when i got here.. or before. Now, i will say that i am going to make the best of what IS now, but i can say, with a bit of shanme and irritation and greif, that had i known how she really is... i may not have come. Honestly, this is absolutely n o replacemet for Steven, my family or my friends. I will say, however.. Emily is close, and i like the friends Mike, Rita, and Melissa we have made, Its a new start WITHOUT the constant threat of Patrick (even if he calls so damn much!) and i really love the land here.. the sky can be seen, its so green, and smells so good. There are a TON of birds, adn aside form the random death-smells waifting through my house, its a decent apartment. (even if when i walked in i was like- uuhh.... crap. i could see why she didnt send me many pictures... aside from the fact that she doesnt have any cameras... she may not have) I have made it into a cute little place for Maggs and I.
I know i can make this work, i always find a way ;), and my best and highest intention is my Herbal Work. I placed a good sized order for herbs day before yesterday, and will be doing the Farmer's Market next week. I can do more of them in different towns If i get my bootay in gear, and get to them!! I have spoken with a couple of ladies that sell Strawberries about other markets they go to locally. I ahve also talked to the local librarian about doing Story Time for the Kids once a week.. i think that would be fun. The kids around here run wild with nothing to do. I am sure i could also make some money doing kid's art projects or some herbal classes for them, and a couple girls in particular would be VERY interested, i know. The poor things are always looking for soemthing to stimulate their minds, and i am afraid they will get into trouble soon.
Then theres the talk i have with Miss Rita about the restoration of the town.. thats a story for another day... but let me say that there is a town about 50 miles away that is a cross between Jerome and Portsmouth, and Medora could be that as well... ppl come for all over the world to see our covered bridge, brick plant and round barns. Now, all I need is the inspiration to get this all going. *sigh* :D. Lord.. Help me!

Friday
Ok, so this is me bored. i have done nothing but wander around and eat all day. I have done my best to keep Maggs occupied, and at that bored myself to DEATH. I feel so unaccomplished, i could SO be doing things, but i dont have supplies to do anything with, sort of. See? im making up excuses. im just bored.
I am planning to work the farmer's market next Saturday. So that means i will be making product and bread next week, but not this week. My supplies come in this next week. It is dinner time already.. i need to get the kitchen cleaned up and dinner started, but i am procrastinating.
I am sick to death of Hannah Montana, Sponge Bob amd the Suite Life of Zack and Cody... which is all that seems to be on the TV. And i HATE TV.. but you can only follow a 3 year old on a trike around the block just so many times, and the "big kid's playground" gets old after the 3rd time in one day.
well... this is me bored today.
Off to make dinner.

thursday, week three's start.
Well, i have realized that it is going to take a while to get this place smelling rite. I know that sounds a little silly, but i have a thing about scents.. and i dont like other's lingering in my home. Especially when they are yucky. There seems to be a bad smell to the carpet, and the scent of the liquor store comes in around the door in the back hall, making the back wall of the kitchen smell like a bar. (i plan to tape all around it... when i get the time). I have been using multiple sprays and candles, because i dont have any good inscense to permiate the walls with.
Got the first order yesterday from the 'Site from Alyssa. Gotta now get all the stuff in order today and fill it. I really want to get the garage renovated, but all i can think about is the cost of the insulation i need to buy, even though i havnt priced it out yet. Making an herbal order today too. Should look to send out some more resumes, too. Mr. Mike will be looking for help in the next couple months.. but months. Thats not going to fly. Well, whatever, im bringing in some money, its a start. I have GOT to get ready for the grand opening, and if i can get my butt in gear, i can hold a table at the little farmers market on Saturdays here.
*sigh* The only thing i am worried about rite now is bringing in some money to appease my mom and well... uh, have something for us ;). So- onto the products i make- and make them more and more because i will be selling them more and more!! I will probably be setting up more outlets for the products.. when i figure out where to do so.. like artfire and eetsy i guess...who knows.
Well, off to the post office.

June 2nd already...
Well, Indiana. Here we are.
where do i start? We have net and cable now, which is wonderful, because being without net adn felling the need to let everyone know we are ok, was irritating. I have to go to the grocery today- the food i brought with me is dwindling. The grocery is 40 miles away :) thats awesome. i REALLY want to find a way to work in this town and stay in this town. I really dont want to find some random job doing some corporate crap. My mom had said with her own seriousnerss that i had to have a job within 2 weeks of being here. Or start looking for one, i think. Sure, ill work on it this week, because my house is in workable order. My kitchen is great! i cook 3 meals a day, for her, Maggs and I. Sometimes Granny eats with us. There is a tense dynamic between my mom and granny. (my mom is not my birth mom, but my step mother who i am getting to know more and more each day) My mom had 8 in her family, but i didnt know this until day before yesterday- she doesnt talk to any of them, for whatever reason unles its Fran or Theresa. Granny gives me the inside scoop on things, Maggs loves her. She had a run of bad days last week, about 4 in a row, adn i was actually questioning my coming here... but she hadnt slept, adn shes better now :) Better is an opperative word here, because as people say about having to take me with a grain of salt, you have to take her with a salt lick block. You just have to be in the Art of Allowing with her. :) Good thing i have my training.
OK, so... Lets move onto Taft, the geezer in the front apartment. ahahaha... he has 2 teeth- which Maggs so Superbly pointed out one evening by saying to him.."Tafff... do you only have one tooth??" he laughed and said that he had two. Taft is nice, and helpful and Maggs love him. Hes not the most out together person, he drinks but theres a lot of those around. Hes a good guy though.. beanpole and always clean. Then there are the people who own the little Deli and Grocery next door, Miss Rita and Mr. Mike, as we call them. There is a little Pizza parlor that Mr. Mike runs w-sat evenings attached to the grocery/deli that Miss Rita runs. They are married, and they are our friends. Mr. Mike fixed our bath tub faucet last week, thank god.. cause for the first week and a half we had been here we had to take baths.. which is ok for Maggs.. but me. NO. Especially since it was DAMN HOT and sticky and i was working HARD to get this place in order. I got a sun rash from how hot it was for days, i had forgotten about my allergy to the sun after not being exposed for oh.. years in new hampshire.
Ok, what else? I need to be getting on the Herblas, i have to make an order for Bulks and get toghether scrubs adn such for the farmers market that is rite across the street on Saturdays. And my mother's grand openeing is on the 13th. We should have a pretty big turn out for that, and we will have vendors. Ill set up rite next door to her store. I have to renovate my garage for my shop, Taft seems to be living in our other shop space rite now. It seems like the herbals shop will go over well here- people seem useto it all. People have asked me about remedies that their grandmothers used.. but they have limited info, so i cant really help :) But it will all come together. And i am looking forward to doing more online business.
Lets see, what else? I Went out to the property... sheesh. It was really logged by the past owners.. there is no old growth left. Its all new trees.. and lots of plants. Took Maggs with Granny out to the property and the creek and played in the water.
Alrigh, now the house.. ill admit, when i first walked in, i was like... uhh..... um. ok. It seemed pretty bad. But after a week of work, its turning out to be pretty nice. The walls are a lavender beige grey color, adn the carpets were so dirty in the living room. But i cleaned them, and put dwoen the Sun Moon and Stars Rug Ashley gave us, and its good. Maggs room is beautiful, a real GOOD pink,, with Princesses, and we have decorated it with butterflies on the ceiling and all. My room is slow going, and that s ok. Our Bathroom is big and the tub is new and big enough to take a real bath. The water pressure here is horrid. If you are in the shower, and someone in Zimbabwe flushes a toilet, you have to stand there until the toilet fills, because the pressure you almost had is down to drips.
We have a big front deck with a green awning, and a railing, Dog loves it. We have a big, green yard and we have already put in Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Sunflowers, Lettuce, Cucumbers and Zuchini. (HAHAH, like the priority of the garden??)
Across the street is the local library which is TINY, and the "big kids playground" as Maggs has deemed it. Down the road a block is the "Little Kids Playground". Granny lives one block down and mom lives 3 blocks down.
The land here is super beautiful. Green, and you can see for miles. There are hills, and farm fields.
All in all, its been a good couple weeks, with just a bit of doubt. Maggs is making a few friends here and there - no one like we knew, but i am sure they come in time. Good things are worth the wait. Every one Loves Maggs, of course.
so, i should be off, i have to shower and Go-to-Town!!
HAHAH.

Week 1
Well, lets see if this updates, it never does form the Shop.
I dont have internet yet, but i am hoping this week. Indiana is so pretty. I am TRYING to unpack.. it is at that point where i have out what i need.. so the rest is just annoyingly slow.
Dig on my new Van, its an Astro Van, but a cool one.. with window shades and all... like a touring van. We have met all kinds of people here, and countinue to do so. :) People are really nice, cant wait to be in the full swing of things.
We have a library literally across the street from our house, 2 playgrounds, a school, a little grocery/deli and post office and bank all within throwing distance of our house. :) *sigh* My days go by so fast lately, but the sun doesnt fgo down until 9 p.m. which is CRAZY cause we dont even notice until my mom closes up the shop and im trying to figure out why.
Got lots to do, renovate yet another shop space, find a part time job, and get my house in order.
But its all good, and i feel like i am in such a good space.
Love.. and Light.. Dawnie

WHat Day is it?
Oh, yea.. Monday.
Sheesh
OK, so .. Indiana is just as awesome as i hoped it would be- thuis far. We have had many visiytors, and made numerous new friends. Dad has been off the road for the past week, but he goes back tomorrow. He and Maggs are out fishing rite now.. i need to get on dinner, but i wanted to update.
ok, so the house is perfect for Maggs and I - and i am working on getting it all put together. Its so nice to have our own place and life. There is a Library, Grade School and PLayground literally across the street. Down one block is my Granny's house, and the next block are my parents. In front of our house is my mom's store, and next to it is the pizza place and tiny grocery/deli. thats as far as i have gotten. I have been out to Brownstown which is bigger than Medora and through Seymoure (up 5 minutes from brownstown which is 15 min. from Medora) is bigger than Portsmouth by far. I think i am going to do nothing shorter than great here. My mom is getting on me about getting the herbs up and going, but we have to renovate my shop and i need to order supplies.
well, i have to go start on dinner.
ill update as i can :). But, were doing great.

WE MADE IT!!!
WHEW!! We are here, in Medora, and we finished unloading the Truck this morning....
We pulled into town at 5 p.m. Last night (Wednesday). We had started out on Tuesday morning about 11 am, and I drove us all the way here, stopping to let out the Dog and Child and myself.. and yes, i was STUPID tired by 2 am wednesday. I did pull over and sleep from about 1:30-4 am on wednesday. Maggs slept off and on all day tuesday, and from 12-4:45 on Wednesday.. She did SO good on the trip. She was so FUN!! the dog did good, too. :) Needless to say, we slept like logs last night.
Now, onto this town - wow. Its already showing me all kinds of awesomeness. I have met SO many people today, and ALREADY am involved with the local farmer's markets and the 6+ festivals that will be happening in the next 2 months.. and I havnt even been here a full day. Sheesh. I gahve made friends with the lady yhat owns the little grocery/deli next door, and she makes soaps and soy candles.. go figure. :) I have dates to set up my Herblas table at 2 of the upcoming festivals. :D.
Lets see.. Maggie is STUCK to my mom's hip, and LOVES the heck out of her.. its really amazing. I really think this is going to be good... if, dare i say... great? :)
Oh, and the house is good. i love our front porch. Its in need of some repair, and definate cleaning, but.. its got the room for gardening, flowers, and cooking... its perfecet.
I dont have internet at the house yet, im at the library across the street (lazy small town street...) and i now have a library card. :) Got a card form Dan at the Church when i got here yesterday... so super awesome. *sigh* im so blessed. i really am.
I love every one i know and those i dont.
More to come. :)

last day at B&N
So, today was my last day at 1 of my 2 jobs... and it sucked. i am seeing that i dont like good byes, that i have begun to let things and people stick, because i didnt want to go through all of the last-day crap - i wasnt excited, in fact, i was cranky and upset all day. yuck.
*sigh* Its rainy here today- i HATe the rain at this point, and i am unmotivated to do what i need to in this house, even if its not that much. I just want it all done. I know ill be back here, at Holidays... or at least i think i will. Thats the plan anyways...
My soul hurts, a dull ache today, and my eyes are sad, i need to be held. Maggs is off for the night, and Steven will be home soon.. i need to sleep.
When i get to our new home, i know ill be ok.. its just starting to sink in that i am leaving. And im getting a little scared.
I cannot over think it, however.. i know its the rite ting to do, and im just tired. So, onward i will press.

7 Days to go.. Truck is rented (had to upsize), Money's in the bank, store rooms are juuuuuust about ready, started on the house packing. Need more boxes.
Looks like it will be just me and Maggs and the Dog traveling. Thats 'Ait, rite? Little scary, when i am tired late at night to think on all of this, and it has been keeping me up late at night, i sleep little. But mom and dad say the apartment is nice, and that i will have nothing to worry about when i get there... i say i want to keep my goals in mind and make it all work. I plan on opening greenhouses with my dad on the acerage and helping my mom at the store and running my herbal business. All while being a great mom. Maggs will go to school in a year or so, which is rite across the street, so... itll all work out. I dont really know if i will need to fina a daycare when i get there, because i dont know what i will be doing rite off. my mom half-joked about me having 2 weeks after i get there to find a job. .....uh. i dont think thats happening how she envisions, but that will work itself out. 's alright.
so... i have a little fear, but its because its so close. I know it is all ok, and fine and good....

First day of May
And i wanted to be in Indiana by now. this is getting irritating. I am ONLY waiting on my tax return now, and then i can go.
Mom bought me a MiniVan yesterday and parked it outside my new door.. which i am not in yet. *sigh* damnitt. if i hadnt spent money this past month i could be getting ready to go now!
well, thats ok.. ill be cleaning the storage room, reducing my amount of Stuff, and getting it all repacked in Barnes and Noble Boxes. WOOT! I am feeling a bit of excitement today about it, that light hearted butterflies feeling. i just cant wait to get there and start a REAL life.. to put out my kitchen apliances, to fluff our sheets for our beds, to go out in the yard... *sigh* home.
I am looking so much forward to seeing the Hollar again, to going out and surveying for plants, to even harvesting some to bring home :) Oh, it will be so beautiful.
I have full custody of Maggs now, and the restraining order is in place still. :)
Well... i think ill do something to keep myself busy while im here at work.. like work :)

Looking forward to living my roots.. gonna work the land, open a green house, frow food and herbs and maybe do a little produce on the side for sale.
cant wait to tie up all the loose ends around here and just GO. :) Paul is coming form AZ to ride out to Ind with us.. me, maggs and the Dog.
